Abstract:

This paper has studied one of the fundamental DC-DC converter circuits, the boost circuit, which is analyzed using the state variables method. Ideal switch concepts are used to model semiconductor devices. Circuit topologies are established based on an examination of the converter circuit's operating states. For every topological state, state equations are obtained. The resultant equations are solved numerically in a stable manner using the Backward Euler approach. For circuit simulation, the Matlab environment is used to obtain all the results.
