Abstract:

This study conducts a comparative analysis of the cybersecurity landscape across various Asian countries, focusing on the Cybersecurity Exposure Index (CEI), National Cyber Security Index (NCSI), and Digital Development Level (DDL). Utilizing a linear regression approach, the research aims to identify key determinants influencing cybersecurity vulnerabilities and preparedness. The findings highlight significant disparities in cybersecurity readiness among Asian nations. Afghanistan exhibits the highest cybersecurity exposure, while Singapore leads in digital development and cybersecurity readiness. The Philippines, ranked 12th on the CEI, faces moderate cybersecurity vulnerabilities despite significant improvements, including the implementation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act and the National Cybersecurity Plan 2022. The Philippines also ranks 10th in the NCSI and 21st in digital development, indicating a growing but still developing cybersecurity infrastructure. This analysis provides valuable insights for policymakers, businesses, and cybersecurity professionals to enhance strategies and defenses in response to evolving cyber threats. The study underscores the critical need for comprehensive cybersecurity measures and digital innovation to foster a secure and resilient digital landscape in the region.
