Development of Discovery Learning-Based Learning Website Assisted by Learning Journal to Increase Students' Self-Efficacy

Abstract:

One of the factors that influence the success of individuals in learning is the belief in their own abilities (self-efficacy), which can be improved through interactive, interesting, systematic, and reflective learning, involving the active participation of students in independently discovering knowledge. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing a discovery learning-based learning website assisted by a learning journal to increase student self-efficacy. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. Self-efficacy is measured through a questionnaire of 20 statement items using a Likert scale. The research was conducted at SMAN 6 Malang on the topic of Mole Concept material. The results showed that the learning website proved to be very feasible to use through material validation test (93.43%), media validation (84.25%), and readability test (87.34%). Through the Wilcoxon test (sig = 0.000), the website also proved to make a significant difference to students' self-efficacy, with an increase in the low category (n-gain = 0.1036). Through the learning journal, it was also obtained that students' understanding increased in the second meeting compared to the first meeting in classroom learning activities.
