Abstract:
Robotic workstations play an increasingly important role in modern dental manufacturing, which requires high precision, repeatability, and process stability. Effective monitoring of these workstations is essential to ensure reliable operation of robotic systems, improve manufacturing conditions and support predictive maintenance. This paper analyses the main groups of sensors (vibration, temperature, acoustic, force, optical and environmental) and compares their suitability for dental robotic environments in terms of accuracy, IoT integration and implementation complexity. The results show that vibration and optical sensors provide the highest value for real-time diagnostics, while temperature and environmental sensors are effective complementary solutions. IoT infrastructure based on edge-cloud architecture significantly improves data processing and analysis, thereby supporting the stability of production processes. The combination of multi-sensor systems is proving to be a promising path to next-generation smart dental workplaces.
