Implications for Entrepreneurship Education Personality Characteristics Associated with a Positive Inclination toward Entrepreneurship

Abstract:

The paper examines the attitudes of university graduates towards entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on identifying personality traits associated with a positive inclination to engage in entrepreneurial activity. The data are based on a survey conducted among 1,424 university students in the Czech Republic. The findings indicate higher levels of entrepreneurial inclination among graduates from economics-oriented universities. The examined economics universities display a comparable level of entrepreneurial inclination among their students. Two key attributes are positively associated with entrepreneurial inclination: risk acceptance and initiative. Significant differences in personality traits were identified in self-sufficiency (philosophical university) and in creativity and responsibility (art university). Nevertheless, the decision to pursue entrepreneurship remains an individual matter, dependent on the interaction of additional factors, leaving scope for further research.
