Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to determine the impact of large-scale blasting at the ''Grivice'' open-pit mine on facilities and workers within the ''Underground Coal Mining'' mine, particularly with respect to the deepening of the open pit and the distance of the underground working faces. A detailed analysis of the blasting impact was carried out by measuring ground oscillation velocity and visually inspecting underground structures before and after blasting.

Keywords – open pit, underground mine, blasting, seismic impact, safety, environment.
